About Niddrie Nameplates
OUR STORY
Niddrie Nameplates was first registered as a business in 1980 and incorporated in 1984. Our early work was primarily supplying specialised signage and identification products to the Australian aircraft industry, while also expanding into general commercial and industrial signage.
From the beginning, our work for the aviation industry demanded a high standard of accuracy, durability and attention to detail. These standards became an important foundation for the business and continue to influence the way we manufacture our products today.
A LONG-STANDING COMMONWEALTH GOVERNMENT CONTRACT
In 1993, Niddrie Nameplates was awarded a contract by the Federal Office of Road Safety for the manufacture and distribution of motor vehicle compliance plates throughout Australia.
The contract included maintaining detailed records linking each plate to the relevant vehicle identification number (VIN) and customer. The contract was subsequently re-tendered approximately every four years, with Niddrie Nameplates successfully continuing this work for almost three decades.
Our responsibilities expanded over the years as the vehicle identification system evolved. We continued this work until 2022, when changes to Australian vehicle legislation brought the long-running compliance plate system to an end.
RECOGNITION FOR QUALITY AND SERVICE
During the Tenix Sea Sentinel Project (Avalon) AP-3C upgrade programme, Niddrie Nameplates was recognised for our contribution to the manufacture of markers, labels and edge-lit panels.
The Certificate of Appreciation acknowledged our ability to meet programme requirements while consistently delivering a quality product.
